Cheney, WA - Ponderosa Falls

Ponderosa Falls, in Cheney, WA was our first experience with a Resorts of Distinction park (ROD). The park turned out to be one of the best we have stayed in to date. The site had the usual water and sewer hook ups but to our delight we had 50 AMP service. A real luxury! I could wash clothes at the same time we were using the coffee pot and the microwave. The other amenities that I just loved were the swimming pool, sauna, hot tub and an exercise room with a treadmill, stepper, weights, other types of equipment and a TV to watch during the grunting and groaning process. We were able to find a local market to set up our jewelry booth for eight hours on a Saturday. The event was hosted by a group of woman merchants who call themselves "the hippie chicks". Unfortunately the event was not that well attended and we only sold about fifteen pairs of earrings. We did have a fun time interacting with the other vendors one of whom suggested that we list our jewelry on Artfire.com. We took this great advice and Bill is working on creating a presence for us as we speak!

Naturally Bill had to check out the casino situation and we found two in the area; The Quest and the Coeur D'Alene which was located just across the Washington state line in Idaho. Naturally the one furthest away was the one we liked best. It had a great buffet and a monetary promotion to get our attention.

Cheney, WA is not that far from Spokane and we were delighted to find three of our favorite stores located in the area, Wall-Mart, Safeway and Michael's. Spokane, we discovered, has some of the most beautiful buildings and we drove around admiring the architecture of the multitude of Churches and professional buildings in the area.

The attractions for the area are: Golf courses, shopping, casin0, fine dining, river rafting and fishing.
