Groveland, CA - Yosemite Lakes Park

We seem to be arriving at many of our destinations at the wrong time; Yosemite National Park was no exception. We arrived on March 28th and the following day we awoke to find a moderate snow fall. That evening we were told by a couple who had attempted entry into the National Park that morning that it was closed to visitors. There was some discussion about tire chains being necessary this time of year. We decided to ignore their "park is closed warning" and to go see for ourselves. We were given free entrance using our Government Senior pass and not a word was said about tire chains. We drove through the park for several hours, some of the roads
were pretty snow laden. The view was just awesome. All the trees and shrubs were snow covered giving you the feeling you were in some kind of fairy tale winter wonder land. We hiked up to one of the falls and Bill took pictures....but I can't seem to find them in our album!

The park we are staying in has limited amenities such as no Internet reception unless you use
the WiFi in the lodge. This proved to be a great experience. We just lit a fire in the fireplace
early in the morning and worked on our lap tops for several hours enjoying the view of our wooded surrounding from the lodge. Who could ask for more.
