Ocean City, WA - Oceana park

Greetings from Ocean City, WA and the TT park, Oceana. Why is it that the sun never shines in WA? This summer's highest temperature has only been in the upper sixties. Once again we are in a park with beach access. However, the fog is so thick we wouldn't be able to find our way to the beach and back safely.
Bill is working on some new bead designs and I, at long last, am finally up to date with our blog! We are actually in this park at this moment in time!
There is not much to see or do here (check out the list of activities on the bottom..we are either to old or physically unfit to do most things) except for..you guessed it..a visit to Quinalt casino located just five miles away. Quinalt, offers reduced meal prices and gambling perks (no surprise). We had a delicious dinner Thursday evening from their $4.49 sunset dinner menu. Bill chose the steak dinner with fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes and I, even if this is not paradise, had an Angus Beef Cheeseburger. One afternoon, we decided to explore the little beach town of Ocean shores. While checking out one of the many gift shops I had the pleasure of engaging one the customers in conversation. She told me that she owns a small local motel and that this year's occupancy was down substantially over the last two. She attributed this year's bad weather to some of the decline, but thought the prevalent factor was the down economy. Later I asked the shop clerk how the retail sector was faring. She shared the same tale of woe citing the down economy as the culprit.
