Lake of the Springs is located in another remote location in California. We spent six days here searching for things to amuse ourselves. A great deal of our time was spent playing hand and foot, a card game our friends Mary and Lloyd taught us while whiling away the hours in Palm Springs. Bill resumed his beading craft and made three of our granddaughters bracelets in recognition of their achievement in making the honor roll. I worked on perfecting my beaded pin designs. We took several trips into the country side alternating visits between the two casinos in the area, Feather Falls and The Golden Nugget. I am not sure the exact amount of our combined winnings/losses but I know we are ahead of the game by a long shot! Most casinos have free and or reasonably priced buffets and these two were not exception. This may seem like an ideal situation for seniors who are on a budget, but not for seniors like Bill who love food and have no shut off button; we really need to watch our weight and don't!
