We remain in hibernation here at lovely Lake Guntersville, awaiting our time to move over the line to Georgia where we will visit sister Jill while she recovers from her back surgery next month. The weather has been incredibly cold, reaching a low of 19 degrees a day or two ago. We have experienced torrential rains nearly every day since we arrived here on the 11th. We didn't realize that Alabama had a monsoon season. It has been so foggy here that it has been hard to see the incredibly huge lake which lies less than 50 feet from our front door.

We had a dry moment Sunday morning, so we decided to put on a few dozen layers of clothing and go for a walk around the park to fight off cabin fever. We noticed some activity going on in the Recreation Center, so we decided to investigate. As we walked into the building, about 20 people greeted us as if we were their long lost cousins from Siberia. We had stumbled across a born again Christian church service. Hallelujah! The pastor preached up a good sermon for us while attempting to break the world's record for seeing how many times he could cram the word, "Amen" into single sentences. Although we had missed the first part of the service, we were still there for an hour and a half. They put no time limits on the word of God down here.

We have been watching plenty of Direct TV lately because of the inclement weather. Marcia has been busily designing the online course she will be teaching next month. Bill has spent many hours in the kitchen in a desperate attempt to fight off boredom. We have gone through a turkey and a ham, as well as tons of cookies and candy. He has also managed to fill our RV with dozens of crescent rolls from a wonderful recipe he found on the internet. Don't count on seeing any photos of us for a long time to come.
