We left North Carolina this morning and traveled through the scenic mountains in the Western part of the state, arriving at the Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park in Limestone, TN after a trip of about 235 miles. It was snowing when Bill went outside to set up the RV. The temperature is supposed to be 19 degrees tonight, and it is supposed to be colder tomorrow. Yipes! We are desperate to be back under the warm sun of the South. The cabin in the photos is a reconstruction of the type of home in which Davy Crockett was born. They had a nice little gathering here this afternoon and served wassail, nuts, dried apples, cheese, and cookies inside the cabin. The gentleman above strummed the dulcimer as we gathered close to the fireplace. The campground is basically empty except for the campground host and two other vehicles. We will go off to explore Greeneville, TN tomorrow if we don't freeze to death overnight.
