We were fortunate enough to survive the Thanksgiving festivities. Well... barely. The dinner was nothing short of incredible. Holly and Charles did a wonderful job hosting the event. Bill claims that this was the best meal he has ever experienced. The mini-munchkins were packed off and shipped off up North for the holiday, so were able to hang out with daughter Holly and Charles as well as the maxi-munchkins. Both Devon and Jessica made the Honor Roll at school, and we were fortunate enough to be able to witness them receiving their awards for the accomplishment. Emily also made the Honor Roll at her school, but she got the award before our arrival. It looks like the pressure is on within the family. Hopefully Olivia will be able to step on board as she progresses through the grades.
We also had the maxi-munchkins try their hands at geocaching. Jessica sprang out of the shoot and found the first cache within seconds. Devon refused to be outdone, and he matched her alacrity with an equally quick find with another cache.
We are planning vacate North Carolina next week. Tennessee will be the next state for us to visit. We plan to stay at the state park which honors the birthplace of Davy Crockett. Anyone up for a ballad? A coon skin cap? We are paid through the 6th of December in this park, but we may leave a day early in order to see the Christmas Parade in Gatlinburg. We are not sure how long we will be there, but it will probably be long enough for us to visit Cherokee, Asheville, and perhaps Knoxville. This brutal winter weather is taking its toll on our bodies, so we may have to cut our stay a little short.
