Monroe, WA - Thunderbird TTpark

Our next outing was to see the countryside between Monroe and
Snoqualmie. We discovered that there are so many different attractions in this area we will need to make at least one more trip back here. There are several quaint towns to explore, a train museum, and a giant redwood tree that warrants closer inspection. Today we are lunching at Snoqualmie, another nearby Casino. The pictures above tell it all; this is an extraordinarily beautiful facility. Today's lunch offering, among many other things, was a Mongolian barbecue. Bill told me when he was in Okinawa he often dined at restaurants offering this specialty. The way it works is you fill a bowl with an assortment of meats and vegetables: pork, beef, chicken, zuccini, yellow squash, onions, different colored peppers, mushrooms etc. Your fresh assortment is then cooked on a giant grill (sort of like a stir fry). The secret is in the sauce.....they use wonderful spices like ginger to season the food while it is cooking on the grill. Truly a culinary delight!
