Our stop over at Bedford Creek, Sackets Harbor, NY was jammed with activities and sites to see. Our first trip was to Niagra Falls, the Canadian side. One of our RV neighbors recommended we try the Canada side of the falls telling us it was much more scenic than the US side. Bill had been to the US side many years before and thought this was a good idea; a chance for him to compare the two views. The falls were spectacular! We toyed with the idea of taking the boat under the falls, but the cost was just to much for us poor retirees! Of course, we had to try our luck at the Casino and sample the lunch buffet while we were right there! Our next side trip was the 1000 island boat trip to the Boldt Castle on the St. Lawrence River on Lake Ontario. There is a great deal of history surrounding the castle which is now owned by the State of New York. The castle was never completed and the state has been doing what they can to rectify that; one section at a time. The flower gardens are abundant and meticulously kept the rooms inside the castle that have been finished are beautifully furnished.
