After spending an entire month at South Padre Island we decided it was time to move on. However, there was one small problem. We had our final dental appointment to keep. We located a park in Mercedes, TX that was just minutes from Progresso. Paradise South RV Resort turned out to be a nice change. It had a swimming pool, recreation center and a library where Marcia could exchange the books she had just finished reading. We spent a very restful week there. The resort was pretty much like a ghost town since all the winter Texas had gone back home a few weeks earlier. We did meet several nice couples and had some fun floating around in the swimming pool exchanging stories about our travels.
Our original plan was to leave Mercedes and head for California. One of the advantages of this lifestyle is its flexibility. Marcia's sister Bonnie is throwing a birthday party for their dad's 88th birthday and that means our new plan is to head for Massachusetts. We can't miss such an important occasion. If we spend three days at each stop along the way we will arrive in Mansfield, MA by June 25th; two days before the party.
