The next stop on our never-ending trip was Corpus Christi, TX. We stayed at the Sea Breeze RV Park in Portland, TX, which is just outside the city limits of Corpus Christi. This place is the epitome of hospitality. We muzzled up to the old coral in the mornings to share coffee and some good old fashioned Texas bull with our neighbors. They had plenty of activites to keep us busy. The top two photos were taken at a ranch where we participated in a pot luck feast with about 80 other guests from the RV Park. The event and the food were awsome. Distance means nothing to people out here. The ranch is about 40 miles from the RV Park. Our directions were to travel down a highway for about 15 miles until we saw a boot on a fence, and then turn into their property. Wow, we somehow found the place, but wonder how many others were lilterally left behind in the dust.
Corpus Christi is the home of the USS Lexington aircraft carrier which is permanently cemented into the harbor. Bill landed on this thing during his jet transition training in the mid 1970's. We began making trips over to Mustang Island State Park which was about 25 miles away. We liked the area so much we decided to make the island our next stop.
