Garland, UT - RPI Hot Springs Resort

We spent a week at this park totally enjoying the relaxing, hot springs filled swimming pool with a temperature of about 90 degrees. We wiled away almost every afternoon floating in the pool and chatting it up with some very interesting people.

On day one we did some touring of the area and found a Walmart and a Michael's crafts about twenty five miles away. The table lamp that Bill had been using to do all his delicate bead work decided to quit. We replaced the bulb but that wasn't the problem. Actually the lamp biting the dust forced us to buy a more commercial type lamp which does a far better job illuminate his work space. We found just what he needed at Michael's and it was on sale!

The advertised park activities included a chili dinner...not advertised as a pot luck....but Bill and I checked in with the couple running the affair and volunteered to make something to add to the advertised fare of chili and crackers. They told us that it would be helpful if we made cornbread. They had originally planned on making some but were a little short on time. Bill worked most of the day making over 100 homemade mini corn muffins and at four o'clock we headed over to the hall with our contribution. Much to our chagrin we discovered that the host couples adult son had also made cornbread; two large sheets of it. The 70 plus people they expected turned out to be about 25. While the chili was flavorful it was definitely undercooked....the beans were still hard. All was not lost, the store bought oatmeal/raisin and chocolate chip cookies were delicious and we had a nice time interacting with the other attendees. A little more planning needed here folks!
